The Face Shop Character Mask Review

The Face Shop Character Mask Review

What can I say about this product the picture really speaks for itself doesn't it?

I used the apple mask and first off I found the mask to be heavily saturated to the point of drippy and this made it almost impossible to keep in on my face.

Second I afterwards did not find the product to have any benefits to my skin. That being said there was no negative effects either.

The thing that really was stand out was the how freaky this thing looks on. I looked like some strange bank robber from a obscure Asian film!!! I thought I was horridous and the look on my husbands face when he cam around the corner first thing in the morning and encounter me was disturbing.

I could only find the items online through Amazon.com

I would not purchase this mask again!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else used this product? Or other masks from this company?

Julep Light On Your Lips Lipstick Reveiw

Julep Light On Your Lips - Lipstick Review

Very mixed feelings about this item. I have 3 lipsticks from this collection. Shades Can-Can which is a chili pepper red, Twirl which is a creme hot pink, and Wink which is a softer tea rose shade.
This is what Julep has to say about this collection.
• Glides on easily to hug the contours of your lips
• Stays in place with no feathering
• Hydrates with Shea butter, antioxidant-rich botanical extracts, and Julep’s Power Cell Complex™

It does appeal nicely.

I didn't have any problems with the pink shades, but the rich red Can-Can feathered horribly. I was constantly checking and doing clean up. However I did not try it with a liner.

I did not find this hydrating. After each us my lips wear very dry and there was an actual drying sensation while wearing the product that was uncomfortable.

The colour pay off was really nice and the packaging design was pleasing.

This lip stick does not stay put or wear well for a long time. The colour at first is lovely but it transfers easily and the colour fades with wear.

Did you try it? Your thoughts?

Holiday Must Haves

Holiday Must Haves

The holidays are coming!! This is always a great time of year for being a bit more bold and fun. I like to take a bit of time after Thanksgiving and Halloween have past and get ready for the upcoming party season by pulling out my favourite make up and beauty items so they are at a arms reach and I can start planning my looks for all the different parties, and events.

Lashes!!!!

All the Time!! Soft and whispy for more casual events, and mega length and volume for parties and evening events. On the daily I will load up on mascara! put it on til you love it and then add 2 more coats.

Faves Velour Lashes, Ardel, Red Cherry, House of Lashes.

Highlighters!!

Must must must for holidays even nuetraul looks need a good dose of light and shimmer. My favs for the season are The Balm's Mary Luminizer, Mac Soft and Gentle, and Becca's Rose Gold.

Lips!!!

Shimmery pale glosses, warm nudes, and dark as you dark reds and berries! All are musts but the most important lip product of the season is a good balm!! Before bed I use something thick and really nourishing, and something that keeps me soft and locks in moisture during the day against the cold, wind, and horrid dry heat indoors.

Faves, Josie Maron Argan Lip Treatment.

Lastly nothing gets you ready for the holidays like glittering like a dazzling tree! Keep the jewellry sparklying! Weither it's with a comfy sweater and leggings, or a hot cocktail dress tis' the season to be blingy!

Just a quick guide line. Have your fav's in these staple items. Pick what you love and have fun with it!

The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Lipstick Review

The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Lipstick
For those of you who are subscribef to Ipsy you will have received a sample of one of the shades from The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick line.

I love this product, I really enjoy lipquid lipsticks for a Matte lip over a standard lipstick. They are far less drying and The Balm has made a great one. The application is lovely it stays liquid long enough to evenly apply, and dries quickly and there is no stickiness at all. I had no flaking with this product and stood up well against eatting, transfers on cups, and kissing. The range of shades is fair sized and has something for all seasons, styles, and skin tones. The only thing that is missing is anything really wild (ie oranges, blues, purples, etc.)

Here's what The Balm Cosmetics have to say about their product.

Introducing a truly loyal long-lasting liquid lipstick—Meet Matt(e) Hughes. With eight dreamy shades to choose from, you can take your pick from this hopelessly devoted collection. This long-wearing formula has a comfortable matte finish with no commitment issues. These matte vanilla mint liquid lipsticks are stuck on you without feeling clingy!

Have you used this product? Did you love it? What was your favourite shade?

Luxebox Subscription Box Review

Loosebutton Luxebox subscription box review

The Luxebox is a subscription beauty box that comes quaterly, one box per season. It's $39.99 Canadian and it's not worth the money. Here's why.

I have now recevied 5 of these boxes and have received 4 duplicates!!

The amount of product isn't truely worth the cost of the box.

There are a few certain brands that are included in each box and some of those are companies I have found less then enjoyable.

You can upgrade your box for specialty items. Some of these where the Benefit beauty box which was wonderful but... one of the items was a gift card to get your brows done at Benefit in Toronto, which is completely useless for those of us living anywhere else in the country!

I really don't want to rag on about it. I just didn't feel this box was value and wasn't getting me excited when I open it up. So I have to give this one up, but hopefully I will find a replacement that fits the bill for me.

If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments,

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette Review

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette Review
I was super excited to get my hands on this last winter when it came out and I used it a ton up until summer. I love it!!

The colours are great, there is something with yellow, pink, and peach undertones.

These powders are so smooth and silky and apply flawlessly with little effort or skill required to blend the shades.

Like I said I used it a ton in the cool months, but dropped off once it got hot and my skin was a darker shade, tho I did use the light shades for setting my under eye area. Now that fall has rolled in I will no doubt be back to using all the great shades in this palette for more sculpting and heavier looks.

Here's what Sephora and Kat Von D have to say about this palette.

What it is:
An exclusive contour palette featuring three shades for contouring and three shades for highlighting, designed to shape and define facial features to create a look of authentic dimensionality.

What it does:
An expert sketch artist, Kat Von D uses shadow and light to create depth and dimension in her captivating portraits, infusing them with lifelike authenticity. Take artistry shading into your own hands with this Shade + Light Contour Palette. Effortlessly sculpt, chisel, shape, and slenderize your features for enhanced definition. Unlike traditional bronzing powders, the Shade + Light Contour Palette is loaded with a unique selection of matte shades that capture the true hues of shadow and light. The three contour shades create realistic shadows to recede facial features, while the three highlight shades impart a soft luminosity to amplify dimension. A true artist's palette specially designed to be used with the Shade + Light Contour Brush, these silky, buildable powders blend effortlessly into the skin for a flawless, fade-proof finish that flatters every skin tone or face shape. This set is exclusively available at Sephora.

This set contains:
- 3 x 0.16 oz Shade powder in Sombre (true taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown), Subconscious (deep brown)
- 3 x 0.08 oz Light powder in Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige), Levitation (soft peach)
-Step-by step guide
